so, i’ve been meaning to knit this market bag for quite a while now, but i looked in the gallery and some people said they had trouble starting it, so i was a little apprehensive, but i had to knit the bag up so i could use the leftover yarn for a washcloth. yes, that was my reason for finally knitting up the market bag, i admit. BUT now that i’ve made it, i love it! i almost can’t decide if i want to line it and use it as a regular purse. i’ll play with the idea for a bit, i suppose.
yarn: lily sugar and cream color soft teal
needles: size 15 straights and size 11 circulars
size: umm… it stretches a lot!
modifications: i used size 11 circulars instead of size 10, but only because that’s what i had on hand. it doesn’t seem to have made any real difference whatsoever.
comments: I. LOVE. THIS. BAG. while i was knitting it, i couldn’t stop thinking of mermaids and netting and i don’t know why this bag made me feel so good! what am i going to do with it? i’m not sure yet. it’s hanging on my bed right now, because i love looking at it, haha. oh, and if that isn’t enough reason, look at this picture. it matches my beloved cinderella mug. what more could you ask for?!
i finally got to go out to dinner with niki tonight and we exchanged gifts from our summers. i gave her presents from hawaii and she gave me presents from india. here is the problem. she gave me a gift… but she doesn’t know how to use it! i would google it, but i don’t really know what it’s called. she said she saw people in india using it to make designs on cloth with yarn? it’s a tool with wire that you have to somehow string through the tool and then you put the yarn through it somehow and punch it in cloth? she wasn’t really sure. if anyone knows what this is called and/or how to use it and/or where to learn how to use it, i would LOVE to know! it sounds really interesting! here are pictures:
and that’s about all for tonight!
