Ren Knits ^^

finally, some projects! July 6, 2007

i haven’t shown any actual knitting projects in the past few weeks, but i’ve been knitting as much as ever.

but first! i just love this little guy! i took entirely too long last night sewing him up from this pattern and i love him to death. it takes a bit of coaxing to get him to stand on his own, (the poor guy has a head larger than his body…) but he does. i’m especially pleased because i generally get to the very last part of animals and then screw up their facial features or something and (in my opinion) ruin them. not this time! ^^

this is my second mini-sock (knit exactly like the other one) from leftover lion brand sock yarn. i used this pattern for both and i’m happy to report that, the second time around, the pattern made much more sense. i’m not sure exactly what didn’t make sense before because i had no trouble at all on this one.

also knit out of the leftover lion brand sock yarn are these baby socks (pattern here). i think they’re pretty cute. i don’t have a baby in mind for them, so i may put them in the donation basket at the bank for a needy new mom. sometimes i like to knit things just to knit them, you know?

i am almost embarrassed to post the legwarmers. i knit the first one a year ago. i hated knitting it so much that i put the rest of the yarn back in the stash and the lone legwarmer in the finished knits bin. i was going through the stash, found the yarn again and wanted to (finally) finish the project off. the second legwarmer was not much better than the first. what can i say? some projects are like that. at least they are finally done! ^^

legwarmers
pattern: from last minute knitted gifts by joelle hoverson
yarn: caron simply soft color soft sage
needles: size 7 dpns
size: i think it was one size? i only made mine 16″ long, though. and i cast on 50 stitches.

oh my gosh…that lil guy is so, so cute!!! where’d you get the keychains for your lil mini-socks? They’d make a great gift for a knitter! :) You know, I’m impressed that you completed those legwarmers even though you weren’t happy with them in the first place! Good for you. :)

I love you little animal how cute, and those baby socks are just beautiful. They will keep some ones little angel nice and warm. I’m not really impressed with the leg warmers I made last winter either. Maybe we just aren’t leg warmer gals!? Oh and I love your little mini socks. ((Grins and giggles)) I just had to make a keychain for my self! I’ll post pictures later on today when the little ones are napping.

So cute! the duck is adoreable. He needs a name though! I love the legwarmers! Now are you going to use them?

Congrats on your new look! It’s fantastic! Your birdie is soooo cute, as are those socks and legwarmers (I really like that color)!!!

  8. Has anyone seen the pattern for an 18″ doll dress made from the sock yarn that changes colors to automatically make a pattern? This one comes out looking like it took forever but it’s a simple pattern, not much more than a tube.
I don’t know where I put it in my computer, but I thought Sock Pixie must be it, but it’s not. Please
    help.
